Elisa Melo Abreu
Elisa Melo Abreu is Radiologist at Radiology Department of Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Santo António (CHUdSA) in Porto, Portugal. She received her MD degree from the University of Porto and completed her residency at the Instituto Português de Oncologia de Lisboa Francisco Gentil (IPOLFG) in Lisbon, where she developed a special interest in breast imaging and intervention. In 2015, she performed a breast imaging scholarship at the Medical University of Vienna’s Department of Radiology.
Since 2017, at Radiology Department of CHUdSA, her clinical activities are mainly focused on breast imaging and intervention. She also participates at the weekly tumor board in breast cancer.
Her main clinical and research interests include MRI, contrast enhanced mammography, tomosynthesis, vacuum assisted biopsies and new methods of presurgical localization.
She is an active speaker in national meetings, and the current head of breast section of Sociedade Portuguesa de Radiologia e Medicina Nuclear (SPRMN).
She is also an active member of European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI) Young Club and of European Society of Radiology.
